Shahrdari Astara football club has been relegated to a lower division following a match-fixing scandal, according to a ruling by the Iranian Football Federation’s Ethics Committee.

Baran Press reports that the team has been demoted from League One after being found to have colluded to manipulate match results.

In addition to the team’s relegation, four players have been fined a combined total of approximately 5 billion rials and banned from all football-related activities for 13 years.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has reportedly intervened in the case, which is being described as the most severe disciplinary ruling in Iranian football history.

طبق حکم کمیته اخلاق فدراسیون فوتبال ایران، تیم شهرداری آستارا به دلیل تبانی به دسته پایین‌تر سقوط کرد.

به گزارش باران پرس، این تیم به دلیل دستکاری در نتایج مسابقات از لیگ یک حذف شده است.

علاوه بر این چهار بازیکن این تیم مجموعا حدود ۵ میلیارد ریال جریمه و ۱۳ سال محرومیت از هرگونه فعالیت فوتبالی محکوم شدند.

در خبرها آمده است کنفدراسیون فوتبال اسیا ای اف سی نیز به این پرونده که سنگین ترین حکم کمیته انضباطی فوتبال ایران است ورود کرده است.
