Rice harvesting is underway across northern Iran, a critical agricultural activity and primary income source for farmers in the region.

According to Baran Press, Mazandaran province leads the nation in rice production, supplying 45% of Iran’s rice demand with an annual output exceeding one million tons.

Gilan province follows, contributing around 700,000 tons annually, meeting 30% of the country’s needs. Golestan province accounts for 10% of the nation’s rice consumption with a production of more than 150,000 tons.

The summer months mark the peak harvest season, a crucial period for the economies of these provinces and Iran’s overall food security.

برداشت برنج در شمال ایران، تلاشی برای تامین غذای کشور

کشت برنج یکی از مهمترین فعالیت‌های کشاورزی و منبع اصلی درآمد کشاورزان در شمال ایران است.

به گزارش باران پرس، استان مازندران با تولید سالانه بیش از یک میلیون تن، ۴۵ درصد از نیاز برنج کشور را تامین می‌کند و بزرگترین تولیدکننده برنج در کشور محسوب می‌شود.

گیلان به عنوان دومین استان تولیدکننده برنج در کشور، با تولید سالانه حدود ۷۰۰ هزار تن، ۳۰ درصد از نیاز برنج کشور را تامین می‌کند و گلستان با تولید سالانه بیش از ۱۵۰ هزار تن، ۱۰ درصد از نیاز برنج مردم را تامین می‌کند.

ماه‌های تابستان، اوج فصل برداشت محصول است، دوره‌ای حیاتی برای اقتصاد این استان‌ها و امنیت غذایی تمام ایران.
