The first direct flight route connecting Rasht's Sardar-e-Jangal International Airport (OIGG) with Astrakhan, Russia, was inaugurated on Sunday, October 19, marking a significant step in expanding international tourism.

Astrakhan Governor Igor Babushkin has received an invitation to the inaugural Caspian Sea littoral governors' summit in Gilan. The invitation was presented by Iranian Consul General Ahmad Heidarian during a recent meeting.

In a meeting with the Russian delegation, the Rasht mayor announced that a new route between Rasht and Astrakhan will soon be launched for increased economic contacts.

Representatives from the Caspian Sea littoral states countries, as well as delegations from Moldova and Uzbekistan, participated in the 9th Caspian Media Forum on August 16, 17 in Astrakhan.
