The President of the Iranian Karate Federation (IKF), Mazda Sofi, held a significant meeting with World Karate Federation (WKF) President Antonio Espinos during the 2024 Karate World Cup in Spain. 

Despite a successful medal run with 11 medals (one gold, one silver and nine bronze) Iran's national karate team finished 6th in the Asian Championship in Hangzhou, China but an Iranian emerged victorious in this competition.
