The first direct flight route connecting Rasht's Sardar-e-Jangal International Airport (OIGG) with Astrakhan, Russia, was inaugurated on Sunday, October 19, marking a significant step in expanding international tourism.

Following the expansion of the Anzali Free Zone and to enhance collaboration with the General Directorate of Gilan Airport, a representative office of the Anzali Free Zone Organization has commenced operations at Rasht Sardar Jangal International Airport.

The Anzali Free Zone Development Bill, after years of deliberation, was finally approved by the Islamic Council in a decisive vote on Sunday, October 29.
