Discussions are underway to establish a “Union of National Karate Federations of the Caspian Sea Countries” following consultations held during international competitions in Russia. The President of the Iran Karate Federation met with officials from several national karate federations to explore the formation of this regional body.

According to Baran Press, the initial meeting included the heads of the karate federations of Iran, Russia, and Armenia. Participants exchanged views on the structure and objectives of such a union, with a focus on bolstering regional cooperation in the sport.

Masoud Rahnama, speaking at the meeting, indicated that the initiative draws inspiration from a similar model previously implemented for Mediterranean Sea countries. The proposed Caspian Sea union would aim to encompass karate federations from Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.

رئیس فدراسیون کاراته ایران، در حاشیه رقابت‌های بین‌المللی روسیه، دیدار و گفت‌وگوهایی را با مسئولان فدراسیون کاراته کشورهای مختلف، برای ایجاد «اتحادیه فدراسیون‌های ملی کاراته کشورهای حاشیه دریای خزر»  انجام داد.

به گزارش باران پرس، در این نشست که با حضور روسای فدراسیون های کاراته ایران، روسیه و ارمنستان برگزار شد، طرفین، با هدف تقویت همکاری‌های منطقه‌ای، درباره نحوه شکل‌گیری این اتحادیه تبادل نظر کردند.

مسعود رهنما در این دیدار اظهار داشت: پیش‌تر مسابقاتی تحت عنوان کشورهای حاشیه دریای مدیترانه برگزار می‌شد و با الگوگیری از آن، قصد داریم چنین ساختاری را میان کشورهای حاشیه دریای خزر از جمله ایران، روسیه، آذربایجان، ترکمنستان و قزاقستان ایجاد کنیم.
