Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali has said recent high-level talks between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin produced constructive outcomes on major strategic projects, including the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) and plans to transfer Russian gas to Iran.

Speaking at a meeting with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Iranian diplomatic staff in Moscow, Ambassador Jalali referred to the meeting held on December 12 in Turkmenistan between the two presidents, describing discussions as wide-ranging and forward-looking.

According to Jalali, both presidents reviewed regional and international developments alongside practical cooperation projects. Particular attention was given to INSTC, including progress on the Rasht–Astara railway, as well as broader multimodal routes across eastern, central (land–sea via the Caspian Sea), and western axes.

He stressed that the corridor is not limited to a single rail line but represents a comprehensive logistics network benefiting regional economies.

کاظم جلالی، سفیر ایران در روسیه، گفته است که مذاکرات اخیر در سطح عالی بین مسعود پزشکیان، رئیس جمهور ایران، و ولادیمیر پوتین، همتای روسی‌اش، نتایج سازنده‌ای در مورد پروژه‌های استراتژیک بزرگ، از جمله کریدور حمل و نقل بین‌المللی شمال-جنوب (INSTC) و برنامه‌های انتقال گاز روسیه به ایران، داشته است.

سفیر جلالی در دیدار با عباس عراقچی، وزیر امور خارجه و کارکنان دیپلماتیک ایران در مسکو، به جلسه‌ای که در ۲۱ آذر در ترکمنستان بین دو رئیس جمهور برگزار شد، اشاره کرد و مذاکرات را گسترده و آینده‌نگر توصیف کرد.

به گفته جلالی، هر دو رئیس جمهور در کنار پروژه‌های همکاری عملی، تحولات منطقه‌ای و بین‌المللی را بررسی کردند. توجه ویژه‌ای به کریدور شمال-جنوب، از جمله پیشرفت در راه‌آهن رشت-آستارا، و همچنین مسیرهای چندوجهی گسترده‌تر در محورهای شرقی، مرکزی (زمینی-دریایی از طریق دریای خزر) و غربی، مبذول شد.

وی تأکید کرد که این کریدور محدود به یک خط ریلی واحد نیست، بلکه یک شبکه لجستیک جامع است که به نفع اقتصادهای منطقه‌ای است.
