IRNA – The commander of the naval force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has informed about the round-the-clock surveillance by the IRGC intelligence unit over the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important oil transit route linking the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean.

Speaking on Monday, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri referred to the ongoing maneuver dubbed “Defensive Strength and Offensive Operations from the Persian Gulf Islands,” calling the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz “invincible fortresses” and “national honor” for Iranians.

He said the exercises, involving new tactic and equipment, are part of the annual program to prepare for the security of this strategic region, adding that responsibility for defending the islands and securing the strategic waterway lies with the IRGC Navy.

Underscoring the critical role, the Strait of Hormuz plays in regional and global trade, the navy commander noted that more than 80 oil tankers and commercial ships pass through the strait every day and the IRGC surveillance is aimed at ensuring secure passage for non-hostile countries whose economic interests are linked to this waterway.

ایرنا – فرمانده نیروی دریایی سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی از نظارت شبانه‌روزی واحد اطلاعات سپاه بر تنگه هرمز، مهمترین مسیر ترانزیت نفت جهان که خلیج فارس را به اقیانوس هند متصل می‌کند، خبر داد.

دریادار علیرضا تنگسیری روز دوشنبه با اشاره به رزمایش جاری با عنوان «قدرت دفاعی و عملیات تهاجمی از جزایر خلیج فارس»، خلیج فارس و تنگه هرمز را «دژهای شکست‌ناپذیر» و «افتخار ملی» ایرانیان خواند.

وی گفت که این رزمایش‌ها که شامل تاکتیک‌ها و تجهیزات جدید است، بخشی از برنامه سالانه برای آمادگی برای امنیت این منطقه استراتژیک است و افزود که مسئولیت دفاع از جزایر و تأمین امنیت این آبراه استراتژیک بر عهده نیروی دریایی سپاه است.

فرمانده نیروی دریایی ارتش با تأکید بر نقش حیاتی تنگه هرمز در تجارت منطقه‌ای و جهانی، خاطرنشان کرد: روزانه بیش از ۸۰ کشتی نفتکش و تجاری از این تنگه عبور می‌کنند و هدف از نظارت سپاه، تضمین عبور امن برای کشورهای غیرمتخاصمی است که منافع اقتصادی آنها با این آبراه مرتبط است.
