Prior to 11:00 AM on February 28th of last year, few outside the noble district of Minab had heard the name of the “Shajareh Tayyebeh” School. Today, however, that name has become an eternal symbol of innocence and a permanent scar on the historical memory of Iran.
(ISNA) – Fifty days have passed since that dark Saturday—the day when, amidst the onset of the American-Zionist aggression against Iranian soil, the sound of explosions became a bitter lullaby for children who were meant to be the future builders of this land. The Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School, which should have been a sanctuary of laughter and learning, was transformed in an instant into a site of martyrdom for 168 individuals, including young schoolgirls, schoolboys, dedicated educators, and parents who were present at the scene.
Nearly two months after this terrorist catastrophe, the collapsed walls and scorched textbooks scattered among the rubble still tell the story of those horrific moments. A profound sense of grief remains heavy in the alleys of Minab, and the graves of these pure souls have become a site of pilgrimage for a nation that still hears the echoes of children’s voices in the wind.
